From Rio with Love
Home-grown and world-renowned Camilla Franks, revered for her bold and beautiful Camilla resort wear, has captured the audacious buzz of Ipanema beach with her latest collection, From Rio with Love. Franks unveiled the collection in a Carnival-inspired celebration at her new Sydney headquarters, known as Villa Camilla, on Thursday 20 April. Exploring the spirit that lives in the Brazilian sunshine during the day and ignites with colour and fire as night falls, the collection is rich in juicy hued prints done up dramatically in punchy fruits, exotic birds, feathers, toucans and wild flowers. A standout? The new full-body waterfall skirt, which perfectly accentuates a feminine silhouette. The collection, constructed from luxe and flattering textiles such as silk, stretch cotton, linen and viscose, is sure to be a hit from here to Rio and back.
One Circular Quay set to be One Lux Property
As the first new five-star hotel project on Circular Quay since 2014, One Circular Quay will certainly be making up for lost time. The project, which has already seen the farewell of Gold Fields House, will offer a five-star Wanda Vista Hotel, nearly 200 private residences, and boutique retail spaces in its place. To fête the new beginnings, a glittering gathering held at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art on Thursday 27 April saw the room decorated with elegant ice sculptures. Guests enjoyed the ambience while sipping Ruinart Champagne, followed by a formal sit-down dinner. Several VIP guests were in attendance, including His Excellency Mr Jingye Cheng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Australia, and his wife, Mrs Wang Fang. Mr John Wei, managing director of Wanda One Sydney, hosted the evening.
Skiing in a Winter Wonderland
There is nothing more magical than softly falling snow – whether you’re off the slopes or on – especially when in the world-renowned luxury ski resorts in the fabulous French Alps. Atout France and Emirates toasted this notion at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with five of the top European choices for Australian skiers and riders: Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Megève, Val d’Isère, Courchevel and Val Thorens. The Après-Ski Event featured a winter fashion show, presented by co-host The North Face, a delectably French raclette dinner, and a showstopping sabrage display from G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge.
Celebrating One Year of Regent Seven Seas Explorer
The vessel christened in Monaco as “the most luxurious ship ever built” marked her first anniversary in style with a grand gala at Sydney’s Bistro Guillaume on 12 May. Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Monaco Government Tourism & Convention Authority came together to mark the occasion, which saw Seven Seas Explorer return to Monte-Carlo’s Port Hercule, where she was launched. The luxury ship shares many values with the Principality, including a commitment to one-of-a-kind experiences, exquisite dining and a five-star lifestyle.
